Welcome to English 10. This college preparatory course covers reading of fiction and nonfiction texts, paragraph development, essay writing, analysis, grammar, usage, mechanics, and vocabulary. The curriculum is centered around the California Common Core Standards. Students will engage in activities that promote critical thinking and independent thought so that students develop their own voices. The curriculum also fosters the achievement of the RBV Student Learner Outcomes (SLOs) of acquiring Knowledge, demonstrating Critical Thinking, practicing effective Communication skills, and making connections between their learning and their role in the global community.
